MOMENTS

perhaps it was majic
that our paths crossed that day
or was it just fulfillment
of what is true friendship should be

sitting strangers in a room
side by side yet all unknown
we were sharing our first words
and now we're in each other's world

and then it was even stranger
the next moment we crossed ways
it was over some dine and wine
and thereon friendship stays

and then fate intervened
so abruptly our moments taken away
the time we had together
so suddenly halted that day

we've shed tears for that parting
we've had our hearts down
not knowing it was God's own way
of making our friendship go round

we've transcended separation
we've transcended distance
we've transcended time
and here we are taking our chance

there's no other way to sum it all
than to say what i always say
and i never get tired of saying
i love you and i'm here to stay
