If both the bride and the groom are Filipino citizens, their marriage can be officiated at the Philippine Embassy by a consular officer. If either the bride or the groom is NOT a Filipino citizen, then the marriage may be officiated at a local Korean city hall; however, the Filipino citizen must first get a "Certification of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage" from the Embassy. Abroad, a "wedding" conducted in the church is only a "blessing" and is not registered in the Philippines; only marriages officiated at the Embassy and at a local Korean city hall are recognized as legal and binding. Additional documents related to marriages include the Affidavit of Eligibility for Marriage and the Report of Marriage. These will be available at the Embassy. Filipino citizens are reminded to report their marriages officiated abroad to the Philippine Embassy. Address
